E-mails will be generated at 12:00 with this weird code. It helps you solve the mystery of the city visited but it is not necessary for you to crack the code of all those letters on the puzzle flip chart.
Keep sending me e-mails for questions. Lower grades, if you need more simpliar clues, let me know. Look in the story for the hints.

It is time to celebrate reading with activities with your students. Below is the scavenger hunt you can use with your students. The class (es) that guess the correct location of James for the whole week, wins a guest reader ( which is really me!).
If we have inclement weather, the activity moves to the next day until we have found the final location of James before he returns home. This is a similar idea to Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?
On the first day on announcements Melissa will introduce the idea and remind you to leave time in your day to find James. Then, sometime during the day ( let the kids remind you!) launch the presentation and let the mystery begin.
Before the end of the day, please send an e-mail to Melissa as to your classes' guess. She will collect the answers and share the names of the classes who got the correct answers. However, the correct answers will not be shared until the last day of the mystery. Do not share your answers with the other classes.
Here is how to play.
The first day you will watch the introductory video. This will motivate the students to play.
Open puzzle flip chart to watch the next video on the first page of the flip chart.
Next, you will read the story for that day. As you read, look for clues as to what country/state/city has James been.
Then, go back to the second page of the puzzle flip chart and use the clues from above to help with the puzzle.
Once you have verified the location that James has visited, you can track James on the map on "James goes" flip chart below. The kids should have fun moving James around the map. Use the pen tool to draw lines as James moves from place to place.
James will visit a total of 7 places not including Abington and some days he will visit two places in one day.
To assist you with this enigma, you will receive an additional clue each day via e-mail.
Any issues, e-mail Dawn or Melissa.
